Cheesy Inspiration from Holidays Past

We here at Kaukauna really get excited about the holidays. We love the spirit of peace in the air, the traditions, and, most of all, getting together with the family and friends we don’t get to see often enough.

This year, we dug up some of our old catalogs to see what “brought ‘em together” in decades past. Some things have stayed the same, but some things have definitely changed with the times!

In 1955, our holiday catalog featured this cocktail shaker, challenging all who saw it to ask themselves: Would you rather have a cocktail shaker full of cocktails? Or 2 pounds 7 ounces full of cheese? We know which way we’d vote.

If you have any hard-to-buy-for teenagers on your list, skip the fancy electronics and gift cards and take a page out of our 1960 catalog. Get them an electric grill for their “Teenage TV Snack Time.”

If you know any hipsters, try this set of “Cheese ‘N Old English Mugs” from 1973. Those olde-timey steins, the ironic tree stump, and vintage, before-they-were-cool foil packages of Kaukauna Spreadable Cheese will be a hit.

Finally, the sophisticates on your list won’t have to choose between uptown class and down-home authenticity. Get them both the “Fox Valley” and “Fifth Avenue” selection boxes for the best of both worlds.

We hope these suggestions inspired you! And if things are really getting you down, remember this: you probably won’t be receiving the frozen pheasant that appeared in the 1960, ‘63, ’69, and ’74 catalogs.

Happy Holidays! And if you haven’t already, grab your $1 off coupon here!
